Sending or receiving animals
Record what animals go where in NAIT and you’ll do more than just play by the rules. You’ll make sure your stock are traceable, so NAIT can help swiftly contain a disease and find the source. It’s a big reassurance for your farm and business.
What are the rules?
Animals moving between two farms (anywhere except to sale yards or meat processors) are known as farm-to-farm movements. Whether you are the sender or the receiver of animals, you need to do something in NAIT – either record or confirm the movement. This needs to be done within two days.
Cattle leaving your farm?
If your sending your stock to another farm, record your sending movement with NAIT. If your stock are going to a sale yard or meat processor, you’re good, these places will record the movement with NAIT for you.
